Your rules, wherever underwriting takes place
Delegating to a network means your rules must be available at the time of quotation, not just in a document revised twice a year. The Knowledge Engine exposes your guidelines, exclusions and thresholds via API: a single version of the rule, for both your partner portals and your management system.

Delegation works when you can guarantee rules are applied to all quotations
Extending a rule to an external network usually requires an IT project: bespoke integrations, lengthy cycles, portals aligned with an earlier version of the guidelines. On the network side, a contract is often renewed for five to seven years before being properly reviewed. Exposed via an API, the same rule reaches your partners' tools on the very day you publish it.

“Continuity helps us monitor risks effectively. It helps us prioritise actions and ensure that our safeguards remain appropriate.”

The API serves your underwriters. Not the other way round
The referral goes to the right underwriter
With the file already compiled and the reason stated — not an empty file to be built from scratch.
The business rule remains written by the business
The technical department publishes it; no development is required to adjust a threshold.
The network benefits too
Partners receive an immediate response: a relationship-building tool, not a control mechanism.
Let's set up one of your guides
A technical demo with your rules and your quotation scenarios. Your IT manager and your underwriters in the same room.
Four steps.
A single version of the rule
Exclusions, limits, authorisation thresholds, sector-specific and geographical rules are modelled from your documents. The technical department publishes; the API distributes. Every change is versioned and dated.
Broker portal, agent extranet, comparison tool: they call the API whilst entering data. Immediate and clear response: acceptable under delegation, requires referral, outside scope, with reason. Your partners receive their response without having to wait for an underwriter, and without having to learn a new interface.
Each partner has their own scope: sectors, limits, areas. You can expand, reduce or suspend it without any technical amendment. Greater capacity for those who underwrite well; automatic referral where your underwriter needs to review the file.
Whether during an audit or in a dispute, you can explain why a case was accepted: the rule applied, the version, the data used, and the decision made. And the technical department can measure the actual usage of its guidelines across the network.
